I have written for quite some time, but always keeping it a secret from most around me. Through the strong encouragement from a friend and teacher, Brother Keith Burkhart, I finally started to share my work with close friends and family. The poem My Brother, Savior and Friend was an assignment from Brother Burkhart. As I write, a piece of myself is left with the words. I feel that is why I hide it so often. I am trying to be brave and instead of just putting a foot out to test the water, I’m just jumping in with a full run. I hope that these word can help others and they have truly helped me.
